How can it be 50 years when I only think of myself as 45?! We’ve been priviledged to live around the world but there’s nothing like old friends to remind one of the foundations set back in those early days. I’m grateful for so many wonderful teachers and classmates. God bless each of you with His
very real presence!

You may recall that my brother, Bill, was killed in a snowmobile accident during our senior year in high school (as was Diane Wiedmer’s husband). Several of our classmates are also gone. As I think about our 40th year class reunion, my first thought is, “how can this be?”…since I’m only about 40 years -old! My hope is that each of you has considered the claims of Jesus Christ as written in the Bible. He upheld me through the deaths of my brother, husband and baby…His promises are for each of us. One of my favorites is that whoever believes in God’s son will know beyond the shadow of a doubt that they have eternal life.

After my first husband died, I returned to college and completed my accounting degree. My husband and I had a CPA firm for 5 years. Before joining Wycliffe Bible Translators, we left for California with a 2 yr old son and added 3 daughters during our six years there. We then spent 2 years in Irian Jaya (just this side of the stone age) followed by 6 years in Jakarta, Indonesia. Thanks to the recent riots, we were able to come home for the class reunion, though we do plan to return there in August.
Life is so short – focus on the important rather than the urgent. Love God, your family and others. And no matter how far you may roam, there’s no place like home!
